We hope that we’ll be able to invite a limited number of folks to attend in person. However, we may need to hold the event fully via Zoom depending on COVID protocols in the Spring 2022 semester. If we are able to host a hybrid event, in-person attendees will need to be Harvard ID holders, and follow all HKS COVID-19 policies. (A donut will be provided for each in-person attendee upon request!) All other attendees must join the event via Zoom. Speaker will be presenting via Zoom.

Stephen Leonelli (he/him/she/her) is an advocate for the human rights, inclusion, and empowerment of LGBTQI+ people, sex workers, people who use drugs, people living with HIV, and all marginalized and historically underrepresented groups. Since 2005, Stephen has worked at LGBTQI+ and HIV advocacy organizations in Charlottesville, Beijing, Brussels, and Oakland, supporting capacity building and grant-making to grassroots networks and increasing the evidence base for effective LGBTQI+ programs and policies. Stephen is currently a Program Analyst for the LGBTQI+ portfolio at the Inclusive Development Hub within the Bureau for Development, Democracy, and Innovation at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Stephen holds a master in public policy degree from Harvard Kennedy School (2016) and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

At this session of Data + Donuts, Stephen will speak about data-driven program design for LGBTQI+ inclusive policy - including how “data-driven” in this context can differ from other policy areas.
